Quality Throughout Every Stage of the Project

COMMI Quality Assurance oversees anti-corrosion protection work, verifying compliance with contractual specifications, coating systems and standards applicable to each project.

The team includes a FROSIO Certified Surface Treatment Inspector Level III and an AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE), providing specialist expertise in coating inspection and control.

Inspectors verify application conditions and the different stages of the coating system through inspections and tests defined by contractual documentation and applicable standards, using instruments calibrated or verified in accordance with the relevant requirements.

The Integrated Management System and related certifications are described on the Certifications page.

Project Specifications and Coating Systems

COMMI works in accordance with project technical specifications and the requirements of major Contractors and End Users, applying the coating systems and related inspections required by the project documentation.

This experience enables COMMI to work to specifications developed for leading companies in industry, energy and Oil & Gas.

Each coating system is managed in accordance with the Painting Specification for the project, the requirements of the component or structure and the expected service conditions.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION

For each project, the inspections and tests required by the contractual specifications and applicable coating system are carried out, including, where required, environmental conditions, surface preparation and profile, surface contamination, WFT/DFT, coating continuity and adhesion.

DOCUMENTED COMPLIANCE

Inspection activities are recorded in internal inspection reports prepared with reference to the project requirements, contractual specifications and applicable standards. Where required by the project, witnessed inspections can be carried out with inspectors or representatives of the client, the project engineering company and the End User.

PREVENTION OF NON-CONFORMITIES

In-process inspections make it possible to identify any deviations from the specified requirements and to act before the coating system is completed, helping to prevent non-conformities, rework and delays.

Documented Project Quality

On completion of the work, the results of the required inspections are collected in the project inspection documentation. When contractually required, inspection reports are provided to the client together with the final documentation, ensuring traceability of the inspections performed and results recorded.

Coating Inspection Instruments

Painting Inspection activities are supported by dedicated instruments for the different stages of surface preparation and coating application, managed in accordance with COMMI Quality System procedures.
